This directory is a proof of concept (a first try to show it works). Ray built it and paid for it, for The Bristol Creative Co. It shows what a free, independent guide to Bristol's creative scene can be. To keep it free, up to date and growing, we're looking for funding, sponsors and partners.
Funding and sponsorship
Back the whole directory, or one part of it, like the venues or the studios. Put money towards the new space we're raising money to open. Or tell us about grants you think we'd fit.
Paid listings
Organisations can feature their listing or add offers from £10 a month. Paid spots are always labelled. The home page is never for sale.
Why back this
Creative UK wrote a paper called Culture as Growth Infrastructure. It says culture should be funded like other infrastructure (the basics a city needs to run). It also says nobody has mapped culture properly. This directory is that map for Bristol. The community built it, and anyone can reuse it for free.
Partnership prices
- Section sponsor
- £250 a month. A labelled "Supported by" line on one directory, such as Studios.
- Site partner
- £600 a month. Named on every directory page and on this page.
- Custom work
- Delivery partner (we run it for you), showcases (shows for new acts), programming (picking acts) and artist call-outs (open requests for artists). Priced per job.
We invoice every three months, for three months minimum.

We work with partners on their projects, and bring our own to them. We can also be a delivery partner. We work with:
We could pick the acts for a stage, or run an artist call-out through the community. We could produce a showcase or a series of workshops. Or we could publish guides with you, built on the directory.

- A WhatsApp community of 1,500+ creatives across every discipline, organised into spaces.
- 16k followers on Instagram.
- This directory: 1093 venues, crews, studios, collectives and projects. Grassroots (small and independent) places come first.
- Experience of running a venue from scratch. That means 200+ events, licensing, soundproofing, production and helping artists grow.
